The owners of Liverpool Football Club have applied to register the Liver Bird as their trademark, prompting the city council to take legal advice.

The club have applied to the UK Intellectual Property Office to register the image for �450.

Bosses hope it will stem the tide of counterfeit Liverpool merchandise bearing the famous Liver Bird emblem.

But Liverpool City Council said the club had "no right" to claim the bird as its own.

Deputy council leader Flo Clucas said the council was taking legal advice over the trademark application.

Robson adds to Scots' injury woes

Celtic midfielder Barry Robson has been forced out of Scotland's squad for the friendly against Argentina at Hampden after straining his groin in training.

Robson's absence brings the total number of call-offs from manager George Burley's squad to seven.

Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor will start in goal with Craig Gordon ruled out because of an ankle injury.

Darren Fletcher, James Morrison, Ross McCormack, Steven Fletcher and Kenny Miller are also missing.

Aberdeen striker Lee Miller and Dundee United midfielder Scott Robertson were called up to the squad following following call-offs from Cardiff forward McCormack and West Brom midfielder Morrison.

Hibs striker Fletcher and Rangers forward Miller pulled out at the weekend, along with midfielder Fletcher, who suffered a knee injury during Manchester United's 5-0 victory over Stoke City.

Captain Barry Ferguson will make his first Scotland start in a year at the national stadium.

You get paid 50p per survey and can only collect when you reach �50,think you get a cheque or it;'ll pay into your bank,not reached �50 yet,but get about 3 emails a day for surveys,if you join a few of these sites and have the patience then the cash will soon pile up,but I get boored as fuck.

I got an email about this ages ago, Its a lot of shite, people fire these around like chain mail see how far they go, trust me if theres a virus kicking about you'll not know anything about it until its nestled nicely in your hard drive.
